LPS of US launched first ever regional meeting in India.

Leuva Patidar Samaj of USA (LPS) organized the first ever historic regional meeting in Surat district in Gujarat, India.

The meeting held under the leadership of Shri. Bhagubhai Patel was a grand success and marked a new chapter in the history of LPS's ties with India.

The remarkable feature of this meeting was that it had no cost to LPS. The entire cost for the event was sponsored by the vendors. The most reputed media companies had sponsored and covered the first ever meeting in local newspaper and TV channels. The event was sponsored by Divya Bhaskar newspaper and Hind TV had a 4 hour live program of the event. The vendors for the event included G3, leading Jewelers, Banks and Car companies.

The event was a spectacular success in terms of participation by members from US and leading community figures from India. Total of 1500 people attended the event. Out of these 800 delegates were from USA. The honorable mayor of Surat was also present at the event. LPS of USA's 15 board members participated in this regional meeting.

The President, Board Member and Advisory Members of LPS were present in the largest gathering of NRIs in India in Jan-07 - The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD). This year's PBD was a grand event and it was attended by the Prime Minister, 29 cabinest ministers, The President of India and Chief Ministers of 4 leading Indian states.

President of LPS Shri. Bhagubhai Patel had a meeting with Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri. Narendra Modi. President Bhagubhai congratulated Honorable Chief Minister on the spectacular growth achieved by Gujarat in last 5 years.

Overall, the first ever regional meeting of LPS in Gujarat and LPS's participation in Pravasi Bharatiya Divas were a great success.
