Message from Chetan (Chris) Patel
In spite of being relocated in this foreign country I have not forgotten my roots, culture and the rich heritage. Growing up, LPS played a great role in my life. My parents and ancestors always taught me to focus on our culture and community. I received guidance not only from my family and friends, but was involved with LPS during my youth which gave me direction towards becoming a successful businessman and successful family man with my loving wife Sheetal at my side at all times.
The goal of LPS is to nurture the youth to be contributors to a more positive world through adventure-based learning and service to family, community, religion, and nature. LPS envisions a world with generations of healthy, capable, caring, resilient youth who contribute to their groups, families, and communities. LPS strives to be at the forefront of the national youth development movement as leaders, mentors, and learners in our communities. Our goal as youth committee chairman is to guide and lead future generations to become leaders. Our youth committee offers sharing traditional wisdoms and modern practice, emphasizes traditional teachings, helps create healthy and harmonious relationships and helps discover the teacher and learner in all of us.
LPS youth offers leadership by active involvement in the communities at the local and national level. With innovation and perseverance we can all achieve goals that we desire. As your mentors, we look in our youths to see cultural responsibility and appreciation for diversity.
